July 20th, 1935 must have been a really slow news day here in Chicago. On the front page of the Chicago Daily Tribune, at the bottom of the seventh column, a one paragraph article tells of 20 year old Stuyvesant Peabody Jr. (Grandson of Francis S. Peabody who built Mayslake Peabody Estate) breaking his ankle while on a diving board at the Glenview Golf Club. While many people wouldnt think this was front page news for the Tribune, it does illustrate how important the Peabody family was to the social scene in Chicago for multiple generations.
