July 23. Its like another birthday to me. On this particular day many years ago, I lost my job, my car and my girlfriend all on this day. It was devastation like Ive never known. And life goes on... The following year on the same day, I was backpacking through Europe in Rome, Italy. I remember looking out a set of bay windows overlooking a Piazza thinking, What a difference a year makes And life goes on... As crazy as that was, the following year on this day, I was changing in my car running into city hall as my new wife and I eloped before jumping on a plane and spending the next month in Europe together to start off our marriage. I also remember thinking What a difference a year makes And life goes on... I was married 15 years ago today. Looking back, it went by in the blink of an eye. But I would do it all over again because what I learned was so valuable that it far outweighs the fact that it didnt work out the way I thought I wanted it to. And for that, I am grateful. So happy birthday to me for becoming a man on this day, July 23, over and over again and still moving forward. And life still goes on...
