July 24, 2014 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Narcotics detectives today with the assistance of Gang Unit detectives conducted a buy/bust operation in South Nashville which resulted in the arrest of Anthony Bowles, 23, and the seizure of 14 grams of heroin, 100 Xanax pills and two guns. Undercover detectives purchased heroin from Bowles on three separate occasions this month. Detectives arranged to meet Bowles today on Una Antioch Pike and Moss Road to purchase heroin and Xanax. When officers attempted to arrest Bowles, he fled on foot tossing a pistol to the ground. He was taken into custody after a brief chase. The heroin and Xanax were recovered from his person. During the execution of a search warrant at Bowles’ residence at 4942 Ottenville Avenue, detectives seized a second handgun, digital scales and counterfeit money. Bowles is charged with possessing heroin and Xanax for resale in a drug free school zone, felony gun possession and evading arrest.
