July 6, 2014 I struggle against the bonds of this double life, A slave to the rhythms of three-dimensional obligations While yearning to fly away with you To stay fully immersed in the sound of your name. The touch of the wings of your fire sparks words of endless praise. They kiss my lips with such tender grace. Oh, my dearest love, How am I meant to balance the contradictions? How navigate the peaceful bliss of the sacredness Of this sacrament ... of this eucharist With the petty distractions vying for my attention? Do they not realize that the person they knew and fiercely cling to doesnt live here anymore? Can they not see that she has transcended time and space Only to take up residence among clouds of endless praise and love? For she has tasted the intoxicating wine of communion with her Lord. The heady aroma of your bliss has permeated her atmosphere With the sweet fragrance of your perfume And her eyes are blinded by the explosion of your light Upon a heart so full of you that no small corner remains unfilled. I disappear in your glance and am content to have it so I take shelter in the words you send, hiding beneath the umbrella you raise against the rain of injustice. In my insanity, I dance, instead, in the joy you bring To a heart broken and bleeding in beliefs no longer mine. With you at my side, I fear no evil For you show the way to shine Yes, even through the valley of death, You shine in ever-increasing splendor. I long only to reflect your magnificent glow upon a world-weary world The smallest, most insignificant star in your galaxy, Teaming with brighter lights which offer more perfect reflections But, still, allowed to orbit your star in my own small way, A satellite of rocky crevices and forlorn craters Made lush and green and beautiful in your love, Watered by your tears, and Coaxed into beautiful flower by your love, Nourished by your gentle embrace, And reaching ever upward to touch for one fleeting moment Your face I am held in my eliptical path by the gravity of your smile. Oh! To disappear ... To disappear ... Jan
