July 9--”At the Break of Day” You can probably recite what we call “The Lord’s Prayer.” In Luke 11 Jesus gives the disciples this prayer in answer to their request, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.” In Matthew 6 it is part of the sermon on the mount as Jesus teaches on prayer. Here is how Eugene H. Peterson put it in The Message: The Bible in Contemporary Language. Our Father in heaven, Reveal who you are. Set the world right; Do what’s best— as above, so below. Keep us alive with three square meals. Keep us forgiven with you and forgiving others. Keep us safe from ourselves and the Devil. You’re in charge! You can do anything you want! You’re ablaze in beauty! Yes. Yes. Yes. Stop today and give God--your Heavenly Father--thanks for the basic needs of life that He provides as He reveals Himself to you throughout the day. Yes. Yes. Yes! Bro. Steve
