July 9, West Gardiner, ME. A comprehensive insulation retrofit to a 2-story vaulted roof assembly. This roof was originally under-framed with 2x6 rafters and had only R-11 fiberglass in the cavities! Major ice dams and heat-loss! The crew gutted the entire ceiling from the interior, increased the depth of the roof (and added structure) with 2x10s. Then they densepacked the 12 roof cavities with National Fiber cellulose (R-43) behind the Insulweb netting and strapping shown. To finish theyre installing new ceiling drywall (it had been a textured ceiling), and paint to finish. WOW what a difference!
