July weddings are done and in the books, August weddings are just around the corner! I never wanted to be known as The Wedding Preacher but it seems the last 5 years have ramped up that phase of my ministry for some reason. I do absolutely LOVE love and I love what I do though! Its fun and I get butterflies every time I see a couple in love and how they smile at each other, its just priceless! When it comes to marriage, you must first choose the one you love then love the one you choose! Just like Adam, you must receive your mate as Gods provision for you. When you do that, you will display your faith in Gods honor of His love for you. Adams focus was on Gods flawless character, not Eves performance as a person or a wife. He knew God and knew that He could be trusted. Adam received her because he knew she was from God and a part of himself because God had taken from his rib. Not to mention, she was probably the most gorgeous thing he had ever laid his eyes on. His faith in God allowed him to welcome Eve as Gods absolute blessing for him. For those considering marriage or even if you already are, accept all the flaws, because there will be some. Accept all the issues, they will come too. But, through it all, love your choice! When a couple get their relationships with God straightened out, their relationships with one another begin to straighten out as well. C. S. Lewis once wrote, “When I have learnt to love God better than my earthly dearest, I shall love my earthly dearest better than I do now.” Keep God in the equation of your marriage and your family and you can NEVER go wrong! Staying married is not mainly about staying in love. It is about keeping covenant. “Till death do us part” or “As long as we both shall live” is a sacred covenant promise, which is the same kind Jesus made with His bride (The Church, Us) when He died for her.
