Jumaah Mubarak everyone! Last nite, another gathering at the Zawiyah@Yishun for Zikir & Spiritual discourse (sohbah sharing). Very busy week indeed preparing for Eid, the gathering for the archers (story posted earlier), & many many errands to run. Last nites sohbah, were beautiful jewels.. reminder of our purpose on Earth, of our journey, of our Tariqah, of our end. Too long to write all the wonderful excerpts, rushing off to do some work now, will find the time after Eid to transcribe..insyaAllah. The main reminder last night... to spend on the nite & Day of Arafah, In seeking forgiveness from Allah, to be constantly in repentance. To prepare for death, to prepare for the journey leading towards death, to come to realisation that this time given to us in Dunya is sooo precious & not to let it just slip away aimlessly.. ... Of how mankind has become worse than animals. Animals kill when they are hungry they dont kill more than they have to, they stop the killing once they are full. They kill out of necessity. But look at mankind now, they just kill & kill, to show their power, to show their prowess, they have descended to the lowest of levels, doing the filthiest of actions, having the dirtiest of intentions. They have fallen from that highest pedestal, the highest of maqams that they were placed on by the Creator. Our guides are constantly opening ways for us to see our faults because we cannot see them by ourselves. Maulana was saying we cannot see all our dirtiness, our illnesses, our diseases, all the infections, our pus filled blisters within our eyes, our minds our hearts... because the hijab of our ego tells us that we are perfect but we are somehow able to see the faults of everyone else around us. And it is because of this our Holy Prophet s.a.w said: Allah created your Muslim brother as your mirror... Maulana stressed that in reality what you are seeing in them, exists in yourselves! All the bad characteristic that we so despise, that we see in others, are in fact within us. By the Mercy of Allah, it is being shown to us, to know they too exist in us without us realising... A lot more beautiful reminders will try to transcribe and share with all soon. InsyaAllah. Meanwhile enjoy the rendition of this Qaseedah. A favourite of mine. Sang beautifully by Brother Zubair & the guys from Rabbani Ensemble, last Wednesday when we gathered before our Archers left for Korea... :D :D :D https://youtube/watch?v=40tP1YhhKqE
