Jummah Mubarak ! The sixth day of the Islamic week is Yawm-ul-Jummah that is, Friday. It is a day which has so many values that ALLAH ta’ala demonstrated in the Qur’aan Shareef by naming even a Surah with it’s name and also according to a Hadith of Ibne-Maajah, the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) said that Yawm-ul-Jummah is the chief of all the days of the week. According to Hadiths of Muslim, Abu Daawoud and Tirmizi shareef, Nabi-e-kareem (S.A.W.) said that there is no other day better than Jummah and that it is on Jummah day that ALLAH taala created Hazrat Aadam ( Alaihis Salaam ) the Prophet Adam, and also on that day he put him in the Jannat (paradise) and still on a Jummah He transferred Him on earth and also on Jummah that Hazrat Aadam ( Alaihis Salaam ) passed away. And there is no doubt that the day of Qiyaamat (the final day/end of this world) will be a Yawm-ul-Jummah, a Friday. And according to Hadiths of Bukhaari and Muslim Shareef, Rasoulullaah (S.A.W.) said that the day of Jummah, there is one moment that if the Muslims make duas, it will be accepted. About this particular moment there are 2 versions: the first is the moment when the Imam sit between the two sermons (khutbah) of the Namaz-e-jummah, the second is some minutes before the Namaz Maghrib. And according to a Hadith of Mishkaat Shareef, the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) said that the one who dies (intiqaal) on the day of Jummah or during the night of Jummah (Thursday night), ALLAH taala will protect him from the torments of the tomb (qabar). Verily because Jummah is the superior of all the days of the week that ALLAH taala on this special day spread a rain (enormously) of his rahmat (graces) on earth. According to a Hadith of Mishkaat Shareef, the angels (farishtas/malaa-ikahs) are posted in front of the door of the Masjid ( Masjid) and write the names of people who come to perform the Namaaz-e-Jummah. The first comers to the Masjid will get the sawaabs (rewards) as if they made qurbaani (sacrifice) of a camel. Those who arrive after, will have thawaabs as if they made the qurbaani of an ox. Those who arrive afterwards, will have thawaabs as if they made the qurbaani of a sheep. Then according to their hour of arrival, some will get Sawaabs as if they made the sadqa (offering) of a hen and others even an egg. But, once it’s time for Imaam to sit on the Mimbarr (chair), the Angels fold their parchments and go listen to the khutbah (sermon). Therefore, efforts should be made in order to arrive before the time of the Khutbah. As for the latecomers, their Jummah will be counted but won’t get as many thawaabs that those who arrive earlier at the Masjid (masjid).
