June 10th Prov 8:22–36 Pro 8:32-36 ESV "And now, O sons, listen to me: blessed are those who keep my ways. (33) Hear instruction and be wise, and do not neglect it. (34) Blessed is the one who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting beside my doors. (35) For whoever finds me finds life and obtains favor from the LORD, (36) but he who fails to find me injures himself; all who hate me love death." Joh 1:1-5 ESV In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (2) He was in the beginning with God. (3) All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. (4) In him was life, and the life was the light of men. (5) The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. Joh 1:10-12 ESV He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him. (11) He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. (12) But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, Joh 8:12 ESV Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." Joh 12:46-47 ESV I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness. (47) If anyone hears my words and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. Col 1:13-17 ESV He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, (14) in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. (15) He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. (16) For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities--all things were created through him and for him. (17) And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. Heb 11:3 ESV By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible. And so we understand and believe Jesus was before all things, God of God, Light of Light, Very God of Very God, on in being and essence with the Father, who created all things and became Man to save mankind by his life, death and resurrection. All who put their trust in Jesus have become one with Him and the Light. Those who do not receive Him or trust in Him live and remain in darkness. Jesus has redeemed us and forgiven us and we have been delivered into his kingdom. O Lord our God, Heavenly Father, we thank you for creating the world with, by and through your Only Son Jesus Christ and through the shedding of his blood restoring creation and our connection to you. Ever keep us in this faith as you have promised that we may rest in your Light and the Kingdom of your Son Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.
