June 11, 2013: Wonderful broad reach from Solomon’s to Smith Island. Haven’t been here since the early 90’s when I came with good friend Chris Halley. I remember the shallow entrance but not much else, wonder if he does????. Found an old dock to tie up to, since the last hurricane the anchorage has filled in so room for the hook. Friendly folks at the local restaurant want $30 a night to tie up which is a real bargain these days. Went to the local museum, bought a couple of t-shirts, found the absolutely correct one for nephew Rob!! Then we discovered the two restaurants in town close at 5:00. Lucky I have some frozen shrimp so we can enjoy a little Louisiana cuisine tonight on board Will. Tam’s medicine we bought in Solomon’s isn’t doing the trick so we decided to do another plan change and head back north. Probably back to Solomon’s tomorrow, maybe not, see where the wind blows. One of nice things about cruising the Bay is you can change plans, deviate a little, and always find another adventure around the corner. Perhaps we will be back in B’more this weekend, pick up a new crew and find the next adventure…any takers? June 12, 2013: Close reach so fast sail back to Solomons. Dinner out tonight and then head north for the weekend in Baltimore unless the storm heading east from Oklahoma hits tonight or tomorrow, chance it might. Oh well, Solomons wouldn’t be a bad place to celebrate our 54th Anniversary.
