June 13,2013 St. Anthony of Padua, Priest and Doctor of the Church Thursday, 10th Week in Ordinary Time Lord, forgive me for my selfish anger that nurses grudges, keeps wrath warm and refuses to die. As I bring those particularly difficult relationships to You in prayer, grant that I may draw strength from You to be able to forgive those who have hurt me. May Your love and grace be the antidote that frees me from the tyranny of wounded pride and spiteful revenge. Teach me how to use my righteous anger in constructive instead of destructive ways, taking care that it does not lead to harboring resentment and bitterness which lingers for years and years. May I embrace Your call to holiness by letting go of past conflicts and by persevering in prayer as I strive to faithfully follow Your commandment to love unconditionally.
