June 13: Hill Avenue Detour Enforced. The Georgia Department of Transportation will soon begin construction on the new U.S.84/S.R. 38//West Hill Avenue railroad overpass. Georgia DOT in collaboration with the City of #Valdosta has announced that, beginning Thursday, June 13, all through traffic must use the designated detour route. Local deliveries will be permitted. Local and state law enforcement will begin enforcing the use of the detour route and issuing citation warnings to help ensure safety within the construction zone.
