June 14, 2013 Dear Prospective Sponsor: I am excited to announce The Cecil Jackson Kickball Tournament will be hosting its 6th Annual event on July 28, 2013, at Garfield Park in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Beginning in 2007, I wanted to have an event that would both celebrate my birthday and bring the Grand Rapids community together for fun and celebration. In brainstorming ideas, the annual kickball event was born. Since 2008, this event has been held the third Sunday in July at Garfield park, and has grown in attendance by nearly 100 people each year. This year we are aiming to raise funds to help prospective teams participate. This event is not just a kickball tournament. It is a day for families and the community to come together for fun, food, and celebration. In addition to the kickball tournament, there are activities for children of all ages and free food. For the past five years, I have personally funded the majority of the costs for this event. The only costs incurred by teams are t-shirts and registration fees. Registration for a team of 10 is $150.00. Registration fees are used to help cover the costs required for the park and entertainment. New this year will be a vendor section for businesses to promote and sell their goods, with the exception of food items. Spaces are $50.00 and vendors provide their own booths. Your generous sponsorship will help cover registration fees for a team, allowing all those who would like to participate in the tournament the opportunity to do so. There are also opportunities to assist with food and activity costs as well. Funds are due Wednesday July 3rd, 2013 With an estimated audience of 400-500 people (including participants), this event will bring our community together in a positive manner.
