June 15, 1991. Mount Pinatubo erupted for 9 hours continuously. Within 2 hours of the main blast Sulphuric ash had reached 22 miles into the atmosphere and and by the time the everything was over more than 20 million tonnes of Sulphur Dioxide had been released into the atmosphere. The Sulphuric ash and Sulphur Dioxide formed a stratospheric haze which acted like a sunscreen and over the period of next two years the average temperature of the earth decreased by 1 degree Farenheit. By bursting cracker you are releasing sulphur dioxide into the atmosphere. Havent you felt colder in the days followed? Contribute to global cooling, have fun, burst/date crackers/pathakas. HAPPY #DIWALI. P.S. I am lazy, will just sleep.
