June 18, 2013 An invitation from the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. May we invite you to the press conference for the 3rd Run 2 Plant 4 GREENIN Philippines tomorrow, June 19, at 2 p.m. at the Eduardo Aboitiz Development Studies Center, 35 Lopez Jaena Street, Cebu City? Present in the press conference are representatives from the Provincial Government of Cebu, Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) 7, AboitizLand, and local government units of Naga City, Cordova, and San Francisco, Camotes. On June 29, RAFI, through its GREENIN Philippines Program, and partners will hold the third Run 2 Plant 4 GREENIN Philippines in celebration of the Environment Month. The free running and planting event will be held simultaneously in the 42 municipalities and component cities of the Province of Cebu. This year Naga City and Cordova will anchor the central events. This year’s Run 2 Plant 4 GREENIN Philippines will also see the participation of public elementary and high school students through a partnership with the DepEd 7. The Cebu Provincial Government has issued an executive order mandating the implementation and institutionalization of Run 2 Plant 4 GREENIN Philippines throughout the province. Furthermore, the Department of Interior and Local Government has issued a memorandum advising local government units to participate in the event to support the agency’s Billion Trees Program. Davao del Sur province will participate in the Run to Plant for GREENIN Philippines for the second time. Forged through the collaboration of Holy Cross of Bansalan in Davao del Sur, the provincial government has institutionalized the province’s participation to the run event. Other participating areas and schools in Mindanao include Nabunturan in Compostela Valley; St. Mary’s Academy in Tagum, Davao del Norte; Sacred Heart High School in Iligan; and Notre Dame University in North Cotabato.
