June 18, 2014 - Ian Burkhart, paralyzed in much of his body from a swimming accident, was able to move his right hand for the first time in 4 years with the help of an electrode in his brain just under the top of his skull and electrodes strapped to his right arm. This new venture was developed by the nonprofit research organization Battelle and doctors at Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center in Columbus.
