June, 2003, 11 years ago, I was debating really hard whether to quit my second (and last) job, which I had only had for six months. I was deathly afraid for and of my future; my dad didnt want anything to do with me after I had dropped out of University in the very first semester. As a nearly clinical introvert, with almost zero social skills, no qualifications and barely enough experience to get paid anything decent, I was afraid that I was walking into a life that was full of bad decisions, which would scar me for life. (And truthfully, I have made some seriously bad decisions since then.) But through all that, two things kept me grounded. The first was the lifelong knowledge that God was always in control (hello, my atheist friends! Lovely day, isnt it? ) And the second was this quote, that stood out amongst all the advice, encouragement, discouragement and threats that came my way. And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. - Anaïs Nin 11 years later, countless successes and failures later, it means even more to me. I hope, somehow, you find the courage to take that first step into your next life-journey, or find the strength to keep walking the journey you have chosen. Have yourself a brilliant week.
