June 2013 Newsletter Meeting was called to order at 7:32 p.m. by President Marshall Sackman. The Secretary read the minutes from the last meeting and the Treasurer read the Treasurer’s report, both of which were accepted. The meeting was adjourned at 7:57 p.m. The following items were discussed: Old Business: Horseshoes continue every Wed. at 7:00pm through September 11th. Mike Wellman has POC hats and doo rags for sale. If you use the tractor to groom the driveway or for other grading and need to remove the mower deck, please be sure to put the mower deck back on when finished. The POC is in need of a riding mower in good shape to use at the club. If you know someone who would like to donate one or know of one for sale at a reasonable price, please give the details to Marshall Sackman. New Business: Thank you to Dave Scholl, Mike & Linda Wellman, Rob Burritt, Duane Wellman, Chuck Parks, Mike Graham, Steve Hammond, Brian Maynard, Marshall Sackman, and anyone else who helped to make the Friday Night Fish Frys a success. We made a profit of $1880 from the dinners. Thanks to everyone who came out in support of the events. Former member Ed Sowers has passed away. Please keep Ed’s family in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you John Tomasik and Jeff Lantis for mowing and spraying at the club. Thanks to Rob Burritt for donating a swingset to the club, Duane Wellman for the excavation work, and Rob Smith for donating weed control felt and spray for the area. We appreciate your contributions. The POC Chicken BBQ tentative date discussed is September 7th. More details to follow. We have selected July 20th as the date for the POC 2013 Poker Run. Flyers are available at the club. The Poker Run will be held on July 20thand is open to the public. We are looking for volunteers to assist with the event. The cost to ride is $15 per bike and $5 per passenger rider, which includes dinner. Registration starts at 9:00 a.m. and last bike out is at 11:00 a.m. Last bike back at the club at 5 p.m. Two new members were voted in at the June meeting. Bryan Towne and Chris Clark both were sponsored by Rob Smith. Please extend a warm welcome to them. Thank you Rob for bringing new people to the club! On July 1stwe will have a new gate combo and alarm code. New membership cards with the new codes are available from Matt Miller. POC Trap begins on July 11th. The event starts at 6 pm each Thursday and runs through September 26th. Marshall Sackman was drawn for the attendance drawing and he was present, winning a decent carryover pot.
