June 23rd - I do not want any of my friends or family or Thomas´ friends near and far to feel sadness, nor would he. So, for me, I will forever spend the 23rd of June remembering the best of my times with Dr. Thomas Nesbit. The best of Thomas was a brilliant, kind, compassionate, overly generous and idealist soul. He’ll forever be one of the best friends I’ll ever know. If only on one day each year, make it this day to stop and think before you speak, choose kind words to offer others, smile for no reason, find the beauty in the silly absurdities we encounter, keep your promises, speak up for yourself, offer wise words if you know someone else is wrong, be proud of your accomplishments --- no matter how big or small the rest of the world sees them, read Henry Miller or William Faulkner, listen to David Bowie or Elvis, give a genuine compliment to someone, be proud of where you come from, drive fast down desert or country roads with no destination in mind, refuse to believe there is something you can’t do, go to an Opera, stare at the sky, visit a National Park, say hello to your neighbors, plant some flowers or find a favorite, dance around your house with abandon --- even if you don’t know how, tell someone you love them . . . and mean it, help another if they’re in need to the best of your abilities, realize that stereotypes only serve to separate the world ---and forget about them, “follow your bliss”, look inside yourself & ask what you can do to make this world a better place, make a wish and believe it will come true. . . and say a thank you for Thomas Nesbit, for any lesson he may have taught you on your journey. Turn this song up loud. . . and smile. The universe will feel it, and so will I. Love, Kris
