June 24, 2013 Solemnity of the Birth of St. John the Baptist Monday 12th Week in Ordinary Time Lord, help me to follow the example of St. John the Baptist who never sought greatness amidst the respect, admiration and trust that people heaped upon him as he lived his life humbly pointing others towards You. Grant that I may emulate his virtue of humility and exhort others to repentance by unsettling them from their complacency and arousing in them enough faith and goodwill to recognize You and the coming of Your Kingdom. May I willingly open my heart and my future to You so that You can send me as You sent John, to be a herald of Your love as I prepare a way for You. Renew me in faith, hope and love that I may gain insight into my own unique vocation and make my life a free will offering to You for the glory of Your Name.
