June 27 2015 I can hardly believe how much snow that was - TopicsExpress

June 27 2015 I can hardly believe how much snow that was predicted by the NWS that we didnt get out here in the NW suburbs of Philadelphia. I fell asleep over at Jimmys old Apartment in Abington at 10:30 PM and I woke up at 4 AM and It looked like the snow was just beginning to fall the whole time. I opened up the window shades to look outside at my van and It had only about an eighth of an inch covering It. I looked at the walkway and It looked like It had just enough snow on It to cover my previous footsteps about 5 hours before. Power walking was really easy and the driveways and the parking lots at the James Connor park were in a condition where they almost didnt need to be cleared. I started to go home, the usual route, Harte Rd., to the winding hill rds. behind the 611 on the way to Mt. Carmel Ave. through Glenside and North Hills and It was totally free of parked cars but the roads had only just enough snow on them to where You would have to attack the hills with momentum and slow down to half speed, out of consideration for your vehicle. I went home and I found that my own driveway in Oreland had barely a quarter of an inch of new snow on It since I had previously cleared It and salted It 6 to 7 hours beforehand at about 10 PM. I took out my shovel and quickly cleared off what little bit there was on the surface and then threw another 50 pound bag of water softener salt crystals over It for the 3rd time in 2 days. My front porch, walkways and driveway are now totally free of snow and there are only flurries coming down from the sky outside (in the natural).
