June 30, 2014 This is the day which the LORD has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24 I will be glad and rejoice in your love, for you saw my affliction and knew the anguish of my soul. Psalm 31:7 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. Isaiah 43:2 Do not be afraid, you who are highly esteemed, he said. Peace! Be strong now; be strong. When he spoke to me, I was strengthened and said, Speak, my lord, since you have given me strength. Daniel 10:19 We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain. Colossians 1:27 June 30, 2014 - My Shift Has Changed - As I went to work this afternoon - I could feel the shift in the air - I could feel the new perspective that was overtaking me and I as I looked to see the clearing of the skies from the morning rain - I could feel it in the atmosphere - my shift has changed. And you know me - I sometimes speak before the end of the sentence - not that I mean any harm - it is just the excitement of the conversation and the make up of who I am. but I heard the Lord speaking to me and saying that my shift has changed and I thought to myself yes Lord my shift has changed and I can get so much more accomplished now to work towards my goals - to work towards my dreams - to work on the vision that God has given to me - and as I thought about that I thought about the statement my shift has changed. Every time I turn on the news it seems the new buzzword is – CHANGE! So how can we just shift gears and change? Lets learn a lesson about basic automotive mechanics. Generally a car has between 4 and 5 gears. The first gear maximizes power in exchange for speed. As you move through the gears, you can continue to go faster, yet without using any more power, and before you know it – you have to look at the speedometer – cause nobody wants a speeding ticket! So what can we learn from this? Do you want a breakthrough? Do you want a new direction? Then you need to take that first step! You need to put all your focus – all your energy into that first initial gear! Yes, it takes all your strength, and yet it seems like youre moving sooo slow — but be encouraged, because once you start moving, youll be able to shift gears — and before you know it –- youll be sailing along, and even need to check to see if youre speeding! The first step is always the hardest — but its necessary for change! You can breakthrough with the power of God empowering you, so GO FOR IT! Put everything youve got into that first start. And just like driving, itll get easier; and before you know it — we might even have to issue you a speeding citation, just to slow you down a bit..! With so much work to be done, lets not stay in neutral — lets get in gear, and start shifting! My Shift Has Changed! My Shift Has Changed - Joshua 1:3,7-8 Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses. Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest. This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Step out in His will, claim the promise He has spoken to you– and it shall be given to you! Step out – press through – and know the promises are sure to follow – God has spoken, your part is to step out! Lets claim the many promises He has made to us and stand in faith, knowing that He will keep His Word! My Shift Has Changed - You see I finally realized I needed to shift my perspective more than I need to change my shift - you see my shift has changed - I have set my hearts on things above and I have set my mind on things above and not on earthly things. Take stock of your life. Maybe you have plenty of time and energy to spare, and God is calling you to do something new for Him. But maybe your schedule feels packed. Ask God to help you look at your life with a new perspective – His perspective. Let Him show you the needs and the opportunities that surround you all the time. Then experience the incredible joy of joining Him in what He’s already doing. There is a time for... everything. Beginnings, endings, and change. In what areas if your life are you experiencing change? It might be positive, exciting and celebrated, even easy to adjust to. But change can also be a big deal and can push you way out of your comfort zone. Sometimes it’s difficult and scary, and causes you pain, loss and regret. We experience change all the time—it cannot be avoided, even the difficult kind. Bad things happen and good things end. Our perception of change strongly determines how it affects us. We often see change as loss—we feel sad and want to grieve for what we no longer have. Shift your focus from what you’ve lost to what you’ve gained. What can you be thankful for? Think about what God has blessed you with, all He has taught you, and how He has transformed you. Even when change brings unwanted loss or an end to something good, there is always something to be grateful for. Don’t get me wrong, thankfulness isn’t a coping mechanism to cover the sting of loss that change can bring. But when our sadness becomes intertwined with thankfulness, it transforms not only our perception of the change, but our experience of it too. Being thankful increases our expectation for what is ahead—it brings hope, keeps our hearts opens to Him in the process of transition, and fills us with joy. Dont let the pain of change blind you to the blessings youve been given. My Shift Has Changed!
