June 6, 2013 After an 8 year absence the GYC Youth Basketball Camp is back home at Rialto’s Carl Johnson Center. Starting Monday June 10, 2013 and running thru Thursday July 25, 2013, for 4 days a week, at a cost of $52.00 a week, a 7 week basketball camp will be in session at the Johnson Center. Schedule/Times: Mondays and Wednesdays - 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Tuesdays and Thursdays - 10:15 am to 4:00 pm. Instructions: • Each camper is encouraged to bring their own lunch and drink. • Each camper is instructed to bring their own basketball. • Each camper is instructed to wear basketball shoes and shorts. • Each camper is instructed to bring their inhaler if asthmatic. The GYC Youth Basketball Camp was the place where most of the community’s basketball playing youth spent their summer months. Why? The GYC Camp is less than $100.00 a week; making it economically beneficial to area residents. And along with fitting the pocketbook; the GYC Youth Basketball Camp is a fun learning experience. Ronald and Delano Fleming are former “Travel Ball” coaches; and Ronald is a former varsity coach at Bloomington Christian High School. As “Travel Ball” coaches Ronald and Delano Fleming’s program and NEXT LEVEL basketball teams dominated the competition in Southern California for years; even boasting a team of girls who consistently competed against boys. The girls, along with the boys, went on to become stars in high school, with a few of them going on to dominate the college game. “Both my brother and I were born and raised in Mount Vernon, New York, and we learned the game of basketball from some of the best coaches in the country throughout our playing careers. And we bring what we learned, along with our own styles to our students. Some of my players never realize how much work it getting done because they are having so much fun in the drills.” And as instructors we have no favorite players; all of our children are special to us. Of course players will separate themselves from the pack by their skill set; but no player is above the other as human beings. Press Release from the desk of Ronald Fleming
