June 8th has come and gone. The sit at home strike is to me a partial success, judging from what happened in my area--Nkpor. But what baffles me is the avalanche of assurances from state and federal governments urging us to go about our normal businesses without fear of molestation as they are there to protect our lives and property. One begins to wonder since when did they become so interested in our lives and property? Where were they when the Igbos were being hunted and slaughtered like bush meat in the north in mid sixties?what has happened to the killers of Apo six in Abuja? What have they done about families from Adazi Nnukwu wiped out by religious extremists in the north? The list is endless. When am Igbo man is killed no one is killed, but when a man from any other tribe is killed a Nigerian is killed. All of a sudden they want to protect our lives and property. Hmm... They simply divide us to rule us. All i wanna say is that they dont really care about us.....
