*Junior B Championship* Burt 4-7 CLG BnaG 1-11 CLG BnaG travelled to Hibernian Park in Burt on Sunday morning for the second leg of their championship tie. Having shipped a hefty 10 point defeat at home 6 days earlier Milford started with real purpose and worked their way into a 4 points to 1 lead approaching the last ten of the half with fine scores from Paul Fisher and Gary Helferty. Indeed only for some wayward shooting na Galloglaigh could have found themselves further ahead. Burt upped their performance in the last ten and caught Milford with a counter attack to score a goal completely against the run of play and despite their best efforts the boys found themselves 1-4 to 0-5 down at half time. From the start of the second half the concession of soft goals really cost Milford and soon found themselves 3-6 to 0-7 down. From here Milford really attacked the Burt men from the get go with Paul Fisher and Kieran Gorman dominant in Midfield, the galloping Jamie Heena, Ryan ‘Mugsy’ Ferry and Dean ‘Deano’ Burgess all causing major trouble for the Inishowen men on the flanks, but the met a Burt goal keeper in inspired form and a Peter Schmeichel type double save from Paul Fisher and James McGinley was quickly followed by a saves from Gary Helferty and again from Full Forward McGinley before Helferty finally beat the keeper with 4 minutes remaining. All in all this was probably the team’s best performance of the year but the concession of soft goals and failing to convert their own chances coupled with Burt’s Peter Schmeichel goalkeeper cost the lads who were defeated 4-7 to 1-11.
