Juniper has a sensitive stomach and possibly a milk allergy, a couple weeks ago my husband introduced the idea of goats milk into our conversation. My immediate natural response was surprise. At first thought, I felt like it would somehow be gross and at that point I was pretty much completely against the idea. Im pretty sure I scrunched up my nose and shook my head no in disgust...in that, I realized how detached from the reality of things I really am. Upon further assessment I realized...For one, I have no idea where the cow milk comes from that is in my refrigerator , and the cattle was no doubt feed growth hormone and all kinds of antibiotics and who knows what else. The benefits of having a goat would be a product that is raw and organic, we could fed and nourish with what we would want to be In turn fed and nourished with. So next I thought about the idea of raw, organic cows milk instead, and Upon even further assessment I realized that goats milk is FAR closer to human mothers milk than cows milk! It takes us as humans, up to 24 hours for our bodies to digest cows milk, BUT only 15 minutes for our bodies to digest goats milk! In fact it takes cows up to four hours to even digest their own milk, and it only takes the goat 15 minutes itself. The fact that humans can pretty much digest goats milk in the same amount of time it takes a goat to digest its own milk, is pretty impressive to say the least. I found out that, The mucous and fat globules in cows milk are 8 times the size or the mucous particles in goats milk, which makes cows milk extremely irritating to the human digestive tract and very hard to digest. Im not necessarily sure that I am ready to venture out of my comfort zone and try goats milk, but my children are far more adventurous and unbiased, and well maybe just more clear thinking on this one ;) and they really want to try it out!!! Im proud of them for being so open minded and interested in healthy choices, even if its not considered the norm
