Just A Whisper (Old Poem) As you savor rewards of a befitting life Your character prospers, as does your wife Suddenly a whisper seems to brush your ear Stirred by a stiff breeze, emitted by fear Unhinged gates sway, revealing many graves Cold unpolished monuments of societies slaves Once strong, robust, reaching for their dream Blind to possibly of a rip in life’s seam Their buds blossomed, fruits of life ripens As fruitful desires rot, smiles turn to grins Dreams never revealed signs aging or disease Always played and worked hard, never a sneeze Oncoming pain rages in , gripping at the sand Doctors and medicines prices, far out of hand Now empty pockets bring no chance of relief Once prosperous rewards, turn to failing grief Marital problems arise, scared, too tired to cry Failing sight, unstable minds, unable to know why? Plentiful giving goes to other countries need Rich countries prosper as we feed their greed Do you remember, or care, how it is you exist or caring for your own, you wish to dismiss People unwilling to fight for there freedom Bath in rewards, as we stood sucking our thumb Stop and hear the cries, of the sick and poor Working once for a dream, ends as a wasted tour Some people never knew of working for a dream Others watched their dream flow downstream Are there answers, or should the pot never to be stirred Mother, Father, Siblings, just another word? If you willing to fight for freedom, and give That passing whisper are faces surrounding you Dreaming of good health and a chance to live
