Just A word about last Saturdays black belt promotion, ordination, and filming for Always Present on the Battlefield: AWESOME! Remember the Lord your God is GREAT and AWESOME. Neh. 4:14a. When you have an awesome God who has placed His spirit in you, then it is okay to say that what was done was awesome. Let him who boasts, boasts in the Lord. I Cor. 1:31 Ive been watching black belt tests for nearly 50 years so I have many for comparison and I thought last weekends test was as good as Ive ever seen. First, huge congratulations to those who tested. Shodans: Broderick McQuarters, Harvey and Madison Rotramel, Keith and Lisa Blackston, David Hoefer, Austin Taylor, Amanda Whittington, and Michelle Booth. Nidans: Elizabeth Clark, Walter Ballou, Gloria Duke, Dennis Rogers, Paul Housley, Dale Morton, Matthew Williams, Kyrie Brown, and Mimi Freeman. Yodan: Dale Slone. Godan: Clint Shultz. When you see these martial artists at your school or other events, be sure and let them know how proud you are of them and because of the time of life I am in, special congratulations to those who are in their sixth decade on this earth and still have great goals that they are reaching and striving for: Dale Morton, Gloria Duke, and Dale Slone. Youve set a great example for the younger black belts. Second, besides our people who were testing, a huge thanks for all those who came out to support, encourage, fight, hold boards, manning the sales table, time keepers, and those who brought food (Rick, thanks for all the barbecue), and all the other ways that you served. A huge thanks to the dozen people who came and worked to help get the dojo ready for the weekend. We could not have a quality promotion without you. A special thanks also to those who stepped in the ring so we could film our nidans and above on their fights: Larry Rosebure, Luke Rosebure, Greg Partridge, Joshua Bavido, Tom Kenworthy, Steve Cordes, Kate Herbel, Jillian Stokes, Victor Self, Kai Mitchell, and Brian Smith, and to Danny DeMoss and Jordan Ryker for their jiujitsu fight. Third, our dojo within the Hombu Dojo is now complete and there is an open invitation for anyone who ever wants to use it for an individual workout or an event for your schools training. Just let us know in advance and we will make sure that it is unlocked and ready for you. Fourth, it was a moving experience to be a part of the ordination where Scott and Theresa Brown were set apart by prayer and laying on of hands for their mission work. Sometimes we limit worship experiences to what happens in a church building on a Sunday morning. I have always believed that the evidence in Romans 12:1 and other scriptures point to worship being what happens day by day in our life in relationship to God. Its my belief that last Saturday was a great 10 hour worship experience. Its a blessing to be a part of a ministry that really is changing the world one person and one dojo at a time. Always present on the battlefield, Senseis Denny, Patti, Scott, and Christa
