Just FYI. I like to park in loading zones. It saves me money, is very convenient, and when Im somewhere for just a few short minutes I know that Im safe to put on the loading lights. This said, sometimes Ive parked in loading zones for extended periods of time and not been ticketed. I dont know about you, but, Ive been wondering how this might this be so I asked some questions this morning while having a lovely conversation with one of the citys parking patrol employees. It turns out that you can park in a loading zone for 15 minutes and be guaranteed not to have a ticket. When a parking patrol employee sees you in the loading zone he or she will chalk your tire or take a photo of your tire in the citys ticketing device. The next time this person returns to that loading zone if your car is still there you will get ticketed. The good news is that the city of Winnipeg doesnt have many people patrolling the meters. It takes between 30 minutes to an hour (according to the man from this morning) for parking patrol to fully loop an area. So this means that you can almost guarantee yourself a safe and thrifty stop in a loading zone near you with a little bit more peace of mind. Know the rules so you can play the game. Take care of yourselves and each other. Fight the big man, and be oh so well. ❤❤❤happy Friday❤❤❤
