Just Fine, Thanks Read Psalms 11:1 through 18:50 Mary drove to church, dreading the week ahead. Steve was scheduled for knee surgery, and she was worried about her husband’s recovery as well as the family budget while he was out of work. Her son and daughter were both taking summer missions trips. She was excited but also concerned for their safety while in Africa. “God,” she prayed, “please help our family. I get so worried. I find it hard to believe You really are with us.” At church, the service began with praise and worship. As Mary worshipped, she realized God truly was near. Her problems weren’t going to vanish, but God’s goodness was undiminished. Leaving church, Mary could honestly answer, “Just fine, thanks,” as others asked how she was doing. I will sing the Lord’s praise, for he has been good to me (Psalm 13:6). While much of Psalm 13 gives attention to very real discouragement, it ends on a note of triumph.
