Just In Case You Missed The Announcement... First, let me say thank you to every single person reading this. Thank you for making One Community Church a special place. Thank you for all the blood, sweat, tears, prayers, and money you have put into making OCC the church we are today. I could not think of a greater bunch of people to be on the mission of Jesus with. 6 Weeks ago we were told by the leadership at Early Light Academy that due to some new financial partners and their bond process we could no longer rent their facility because of our religious affiliation. As hard as this was to hear, we got moving to find a new location for One Community Church and began to take the notion seriously that God was going to lead us somewhere better than ELA and possibly to a permanent location. Many, many options have been considered, called on, and looked at. Most options were way beyond our budget and many places told us that we could not rent from them because we are a church, or they did not open on Sunday’s for anyone. During the quest we came across West Ridge Academy in West Jordan and called the director Gary Levitt… to our surprise Gary said, “you might just be an answer to our prayers!” After talking with Gary about his program at West Ridge we learned that they have been providing a program for troubled youth for more than 50 years. Part of the program requires a spiritual component and Gary asked if his non-denominational kids could join our Sunday services should we meet at West Ridge Academy. We told him ABSOLUTELY and hope this will be the beginning of a wonderful friendship with the youth and staff of West Ridge Academy. We are still seeking a permanent home that we can make into a community center. We had some negotiations on-going with an owner of a strip mall in Herriman, but he has decided that a church is not the kind of use he’s looking for in the strip mall. We will continue down the path of finding a permanent home for One Community and meet at West Ridge Academy until that time comes. For now we look to the immediate future and look forward to this new relationship with the staff and students at West Ridge Academy. We believe God’s hand is all over this new partnership and can’t wait to see what’s in store for One Community Church in 2015. So, now that we know for sure where OCC will meet in January 2015, we want your help Sunday, December 28th. We will have our final service at Early Light Academy on December 24th at 6:30 pm which is our 4th annual Christmas Eve Candle Light Service. On Sunday December 28th we are calling all hands on deck to move our stuff out of Early Light Academy and into West Ridge Academy. We need people to help pack and un-pack stuff as well as clean up Early Light Academy so it looks like we never even stored our stuff at the school. We will also do some prep work at West Ridge Academy. This gives everyone a chance to see the new space and get excited for the following Sunday January 4th, 2015 as we get ready for a God filled year. We will have continental breakfast, juices, and coffee so bring the whole family and let’s get ready to see what God has in store for us in 2015. Peace and Blessings, Pastor Tony
