Just In: Communal Tension Flares Up in Kishanganj - Section 144 Imposed Communal tensions have flared up in a Kishanganj following rumours of a severed Cows head being found at a temple spread across the town. Hindus from various parts of the town, which has a mixture of Hindu-Muslim population, were seen burning tires and blocking NH31 in protest. The protestors later burnt down scooters and tried to damage vehicles, which prompted the administration to clamp Section - 144 in certain sections of the town. If you are travelling by Bus or Train to Kolkata via Kishanganj, please be careful, and verify the safety of the route with police before proceeding.
