Just RSVPd (link below) for this free summit re: health system and payment reform in New York State to take place at The New York Academy of Medicine on January 13th. The healthcare financing problem of primary care is not my favorite thing to discuss, especially when it is constrained by the current FFS framework, and this could prove to be a very dispiriting summit. That said, probably better to know the reality moving forward as we find ways to promote more comprehensive reform (ie, single payer). The Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment Program (DSRIP) - New York States $6.4 billion Medicaid waiver initiative - envisions health system and payment reform that relies on major expansion of high-quality primary care. With DSRIP implementation around the corner, what are the prospects for achieving this elusive goal? Will primary care command the necessary resources to deliver?
