Just Sharing…a Thought: God is not like people. He tells no - TopicsExpress

Just Sharing…a Thought: God is not like people. He tells no lies. He is not like humans. He doesn’t change His mind. When He says something, He does it. When He makes a promise, He keeps it. Numbers 23:19 (God’s Word Translation) In John 8:44 Jesus was speaking to the self-righteous, religious Scribes and Pharisees, as He said, “You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth; because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own, for he is a liar and the father of it”. In Numbers we find the children of Israel wandering in the wilderness for 40 years, because of their selfish, ungrateful desires and attitude. They were certainly good examples to the younger generation of what NOT to be. The younger generation of the wandering Israelites came to be full of faith and courage. They were trained to obey God by the few who trusted God and believed that He was leading them into a better life, a better land; a land ‘flowing with milk and honey’. They were being prepared for battle also, to fight for what is right and what God had rightfully prepared for them in Canaan land. They were taught to not complain against God or disobey Him, as those who did and could never enter into the Promised Land. God stood firm and true, even as Adam and Eve believed a lie and made a choice to disobey and fell from Grace into the death of Sin. God, Who cannot lie, (Titus 1:2) gave Adam and Eve a command and truth, ‘that they will surely die if they disobeyed Him and ate of the fruit that would bring sin into their life’. They reaped what they had sowed in their disobedience and unbelief. God’s Word is true and will never cease and will accomplish His will as He has spoken and sent it. (Isaiah 55:11) Just as well, God’s Word of truth and power will be fulfilled in all the Promises our Father has made to us and for us. (Ephesians 2:1-9) verses 7-9 read, “That in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His Grace in His kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by Grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the Gift of God: not of works, least any man should boast.” Paul tells us in Romans 5:8, “God commended His Love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us”. God’s Love promised us Eternal Life, as we accept the Truth of His Son, Jesus Christ; in that He “gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life”. (John 3:16) Hallelujah! What a Promise! What a Savior! God has not changed His mind and God has not lied. Yet, many are still preferring to ‘wander in the wilderness’, believing the lies of Satan preferring the deception of the “lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life”. (I John 2:16) These are not of God but are of the world, “And the world passes away, and the lust thereof: but he that does the will of God abides forever”. (verse 17) What a Promise and what a Truth! Why is it that so many prefer to ‘wander in the wilderness of sin’ to do things that please their flesh, to judge others, to point their finger, when so much lust is in their own life? Jesus said that Satan is a ‘murderer’ and ‘has not truth’ and only has ‘lies’ continually. Where are we as God’s children, and He as our Father in obeying Him, desiring to do His will, loving Him with all our heart, strength, actions and possessions; even as we love our neighbor as ourselves? (Mark 12:30&31) Giving unto Him in everything of our life, for without Him we would have no life? As we think back upon the New Birth of life in Him, have we ‘changed our mind’ concerning our desires toward Him, as in action we are not living His truth? Have we lied…to ourselves and even to others? Have we kept our promises…or broken them? Where have we grown to in life in Christ? Have we allowed the ‘father of lies’ to whisper to us to believe a lie? Read again what Jesus has said to us in Matthew 6:22&23, and then context His thought here as you read the whole chapter. I have, I pray you too, with a desire to ever do His will. In much Christ family love and care, Bro.
