Just a PSA: Macleod is first and foremost a companion and a pet - TopicsExpress

Just a PSA: Macleod is first and foremost a companion and a pet - secondly, a service dog. His service dog status will not dictate what I do with him as a pet and companion and thankfully the ADA gives service dog handlers that freedom. If I want to do flyball with Macleod, I will do flyball with Macleod. If I want to do hunt tests with Macleod, I will do hunt tests. If I want to do coursing with Macleod, I will do coursing. If I want to do IPO with Macleod, you bet Im gonna do IPO. (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ *throws confetti* The fact that Macleod does tasks to mitigate my disability will not get in the way of my dog sport aspirations. (。◕‿◕。) *balloons float away* There is a way to maintain a balance of public behavior whilst doing a high drive dog sport through daily training. \(^ω^\) *cookies fall from the sky* Macleod would be bored to tears if I did not do sports with him. Part of owning a high drive dog is to give them the mental and physical stimulation they need and his job as a service dog does not meet his needs.
