Just a couple of thoughts I have after following the night of terror in the city where I grew up, St Louis- First, a big chunk of town was just trashed. Good job. But it wasnt just Ferguson that was trashed. Now, St Louis Metro has gained notoriety for having destructive race riots. If I were any major corporation I would think twice about locating anything in St Louis. Why sped millions of dollars in physical plant and inventory just to see it destroyed? There are many places in the country that would love to have corporate investments and will appreciate it enough not to trash it. I keep defending Saint Louis as not being as bad as Detroit, but I guess I was wrong. And look how mightily Michigan has struggled economically because of the lawlessness of Detroit. Second, these rioters have just set back race relations fifty years, not just in Saint Louis, but across the country. The rioters just proved all the white racists right, that they are uncivilized and cant be trusted. In addition, there are now many people who now dont like black people who, up until last night, were not racists. Now we can look forward to many more armed non-Blacks who, like the guy in Dearborn Heights, wont hesitate to blow away a black person. I have been asked by blacks over the years why non-blacks are so racist- crap like this is why. And then to read justifications for the wanton destruction. I also find it interesting that our black President didnt hesitate to jump in when a Treyvon Martin was killed but hasnt said anything about this senseless destruction. I suspect that the national outrage about this will be so strong that it will be a long time before we ever elect another black President. So, way to go, rioters! Way to set back the clock 50 years! Way to screw over your fellow countrymen! I hope you are proud of yourselves! To all my black friends- I know the mob does not represent you, and I am sorry for the future racism and bigotry you will be subjected to because of this, because you dont deserve it.
