Just a few Car seat safety tips! *DO NOT Forward face your baby BEFORE 1 AND 20lbs. That is a known law. They are trying to change the law and I really hope they do to minimum of 2 years rear facing! No matter how advanced you think your baby is they are not developed in the neck and spine until approximately 4 years old. So if you were in a crash and your child was forward facing they have a very high chance in not surviving just because their little bodies are so fragile and not developed. *There are rear facing car seats that allow a high weight. So saying your seat allows 20lbs rf so having to get a ff seat because of that is not a good excuse. *As cute as seat covers are they are not safe. If you purchase a home made cover to make the seat look cute or for warmth that will void the warranty in a crash. Only purchase new seating or anything for the carseat from the manufacturer. *Make sure the seat is not expired *Please DO NOT put on a puffy coat or thick jacket while your baby is in the seat. Whether they are ff or rf the jacket puts too much space between the straps and their chest and is not safe. It may be very cold but take the jacket off while they are In the car and put a blanket over them. *The chest clip is made for the chest not their stomach or right below their chest. Make sure it is in proper position and tight. You should not be able to pinch the straps at all. Please feel free to share this post and tag all your friends with babies!
