Just a few more pictures from my travels - celebrating the diversity of rivers - oh how I love rivers of all shapes and sizes. I have lived here on the South Fork of the Eel River on the Humboldt/Mendocino County Line for the past 23 years and loved this river so deeply...but a long time ago I loved the Big Sur River and the River Gorge in Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park. My heart cracked open with my love for Big Sur when I hiked up this gorge again and felt the power of the huge boulders and imagined the incredible surge of water that raged creating a log jam made with old growth trees....a river so very unlike our beloved Eel and so very beautiful...
