Just a few observations, notes, or whatever youd like to call them as I prepare to move back south... 1) Ive been gone 15 years. When you see me in Walmart, Belk, church, etc. and you say hello to me, if we were not close friends 15 years ago and/or you have aged considerably, I probably will not recognize you. Please forgive me if I simply smile and nod. Im not trying to be rude, I just dont know who you are! 2) Pull your pants up! 3) I. Just. Dont. Get. The. Chevron. Fascination. 4) Im going to start demanding money every time someone says a) It is cold (when the temp drops to 50 or 60 degrees) or b) Wow! It is really windy today (When you have to search the horizon for a tree limb that is actually being moved by the 10-15 mph breeze). The money I collect will go to Charlies college fund, and if the past week is any indication, he will be able to go to medical or law school with no trouble at all. 5) Even though snow is unlikely here, other weather patterns can still be very unpredictable. Plans should rarely be changed simply because of weather! 6) After spending the past 15 years away from home, living in 4 other states (including one referred to by many as paradise), there is still nothing more beautiful, in my opinion, than springtime in south Georgia.
