Just a few things that I want to mention. . . 1) I love snow just like everyone else, but for those of you who are missing out on this storm, be thankful that you are. Its one thing to get a few inches of snow, but its another thing to get a potentially historic and life-threatening blizzard with near hurricane-force winds. Unless something changes with the track of this storm, this will be one of the biggest storms we have seen in a long time. 2) If you are in the path of this storm, be sure to prepare adequately. If this storm is less than what is predicted, who cares? At least you can say that youre prepared and ready. Everyone has to realize that theres the chance that something could change at the last minute, but you definitely dont want to be unprepared for this storm if the forecast models end up being spot on. 3) I may sound like a broken record here because I post this a lot, but choose your sources wisely!! Its one thing to get current coverage from various sources, but its an entirely different thing when depending on those same sources to give you a quality weather forecast. Ill just say this. I wouldnt be getting my weather information from a source thats more concerned with the name of the storm and getting high views than protecting peoples lives. If you need a good, local forecast, get it from your local NWS, and I will try to cover the big picture stuff here. 4) Send me your photos and weather reports, either in the comments or in a private message throughout this event. When you communicate with me, it gives me a way to get that information out to the public. I typically post as many pictures as possible on Instagram, and I will always give you credit for your information or photos. Follow the Instagram page by going to this link and hitting the follow button: instagram/firsthandweather I highly recommend following the Firsthand Weather Instagram page because I typically share all of your photos there, not on this Facebook page. 5) If you have questions, please ask them. Theres no way I can respond to all of you, but when I see your questions, it is something that I can address in my articles and updates. -Matthew
