Just a few words of reflection concerning the State of our Church. And I must admit reviewing our site here on Facebook as really blessed me this morning. As many of you know I dont visit as much as I like, but when I did this morning, I was touched by the encouragement and the positive insights reflected in the posts. I wasnt able to attend this years Mens Conference. But everyone should know that everywhere I go someone approaches me and either thanks me for hosting it or commends our church for the ability to have an affair of this nature and magnitude in my absence. This speaks volumns of the presence of God in the lives of our men and their character as well. Let me take this opportunity to commend Deacon Alvin Johnson and his staff for a job well done and I want to personally thank Bro. Wilbur Francis of New Pleasant Grove, Bro. Randy Leatch of Mt. Sinai, and, of course, Pastor Emeritus Rev. Calvin Abraham for their service on that day. On Friday, April 11, we were blessed with great weather as we hosted our Church Anniversary Golf Classic. It was a huge success. We had several teams play and several volunteers from the church and community participate. Congratulations to the team from True Vine for finishing in First Place. And special thanks to Sis. Cayla Scott for the design of the tee shirts. My highest commendation to Bro. Michael Jones for stepping out of his comfort zone, by faith, an leading the charge and the MAP team and making this a grand affair. Mike had never done a project of this nature but did not allow this to stop him at any point. Way to go Big Mike. And last, but not the least, I thank God for the blessed time we enjoyed this Easter season. On Good Friday three of or preachers preached at Greater Galilee Baptist Church at midday on their Seven Last Saying Program. Rev. Larry White, Rev. Anthony Butler, and Rev. John Wanza represented and presented our Christ well and blessed a many a soul that day. And then, if that was not enough, these same three were joined by Rev. Jimmy Williams that night at our church and touched many a soul. Those four along with Rev. Lynn Carr, Rev. Melvin Kissee, and Rev. Harris really opened up the scriptures and blessed our congregation. I want to thank Deacon Barry Schoffield and his hospitality Committee and Bro. Michael Jones and the MAP team for providing and serving the fish dinners prior to the service. It really made it a complete evening. One last thing. I think it worth noting that I actually came to this site this morning via our web site, springantiochbaptistchurch.org. Its good to know that feature of our site is working. Let us continue to be faithful in prayer and regular church attendance. And when you get a chance visit the site. Its still under construction, but its looking pretty good.
