Just a little FYI: We pay for the movies we play by percentage, and the newer the movie, the higher the percentage. If we played 2 new movies together, we would end up owing the movie companies more money than we took in. In rare cases, a film studio, like Warner Brothers this week, has 2 new movies they will let us play together at a percentage we can afford. That is why this week we have the new movie “Blended”, which looks very funny, playing with one week old “Godzilla.” We also paired up 2 movies from Twentieth Century Fox, a brand new movie, “X-Men” with their other movie that we didn’t get a chance to play “The Other Woman”. Sometimes we like to play action with action, or 2 family movie together, but other times it’s nice to mix it up and play something for everyone in the car, like one family movie and the other an action movie for after the kids fall asleep, or an action movie with some comic relief. We can’t please everyone, so we just try to put the 2 best possible movies together that we can afford, to be the most profitable we can be, so that we can continue to provide that drive-in “fix” for many years to come.
