Just a little Quincy trivia. The Christmas Carol It Came Upon a Midnight Clear was written by Edmund Hamilton Sears a Pastor at the Unitarian Church in Wayland, MA in 1849. He wrote it as a poem at the request of William Parsons Lunt the Pastor at the United First Parish Church in Quincy Square. It was written for recitation by the Sunday School Class at the church. A year later, it was put to music.
