Just a little encouragement for whoever needs it before I log off for a few days and spend some much needed time away from Georgia (and my job) in beautiful, sunny St. Augustine with my parents :D Today, I had a serious meltdown. This job of mine and my life here keeps me on the move and I never truly know what is going to happen next. Sales are up and down, and so are my moods lately. I spun out of gear and went from 0-60 within seconds and said some pretty nauseous things in anger. I tend to enjoy reminding the Lord how high-strung I am and how fierce my temper is and how I will never fulfill the promises and claims He has made over my future simply because I am hot-headed and am the furthest thing from the gentle spirit He seems to uphold for women. He laid this upon my heart.... I give myself too much credit. ???????????????????????? Yes, it sounds bizarre but bare with me. He explained Himself and what He is trying to get across is that we place too much significance on WHO WE ARE, and not enough on WHO HE IS. He called David to be King and he fell into sin with a married woman and even had her husband killed. He called Moses to lead His chosen out of Egypt and he murdered a fellow right out in the open. Jacob was a deceiver and cheated his brother out of his inheritance. Peter fell under the stress of persecution and denied Christ not once, or twice, but three times. Thomas doubted everything. So much to the point he even had to touch the holes in Jesus hands to believe He had arisen. The list goes on and on. And on. So, when He spoke to me that I give myself too much credit, I now understand exactly what that means. I am no different than anyone else He has called who has more personality flaws than they wish to count, and to think that I SHOULDNT is actually a back-handed form of arrogance. Furthermore, those weaknesses keep us in check and are a daily reminder that without Him, we are nothing and can do nothing. Peace and love to all and see ya in a few days ;)
