Just a little random musing in relation to the 30 Day Food Challenge: I have been a loyal Publix man for years, but lately Ive been hearing a lot of good things about Aldi Foods. Its been a number of years since I last shopped there, and I did save a great deal of money when I went there. Mainly because all they had was a pallet of raisins, plastic lawn chairs 3/$1.00, and a freezer section filled with fish sticks and popsicles. Of course my grocery bill went down, because I really wasnt buying anything. But over the last few weeks, I have been shopping at Aldi and they have really changed. Their meat and produce sections are exceptional, and they have some really great prices on a lot of items that fit right in with our 30 Day challenge/Paleo/Atkins lifestyle. Their selection is 1000 times better than it was when I first shopped there. We are getting plenty of clean, healthy foods and my grocery bill has been cut in half. Sure, you have to loan them a quarter for a buggy, and you have to package your own groceries after you check out, but its well worth it. And Ive had some really great dust-ups with the old ladies over the empty boxes in the store, so thats really a perk for me. Do yourself a favor and check em out, youll be glad you did. N8
