Just a little rant about the minimum wage controversy: I am - TopicsExpress

Just a little rant about the minimum wage controversy: I am required by law to be certified by the state I live in to do my job. I must participate in continuing education to keep my certification. I am a medication technician. I work with and under the supervision of LPNs and RNs who must be licensed by the state to do their jobs. Most LPNs starting wage (right out of school) is not what fast food workers are demanding. I do not make what fast food workers are demanding. IF minimum wage is raised to $15 an hour, will WE get MORE? Will our per hour wage go up? The entire healthcare system depends on technicians as back up and help for the licensed staff of nursing homes and hospitals. In the area I live in nurse aides, medication techs, first responders, lab techs, etc. and LPNs all start out with wages under that $15 an hour. For those who didnt even graduate high school or those who havent furthered their education and skills by attending a trade school/community college to demand to be paid more than those of us who have is insulting.
