Just a little update for you. I got in touch with my Independent councillor today as I feel passionate about the threat to both Whitchurch and Rhiwbina libraries. I have used both since I could read. I am unsure about my eligibility to take part in these surveys because the road, that I have lived in since birth and later moved back to with my children, to live opposite my parents, has been moved to the Heath ward, which has not got any libraries! I previously lived in Kelston Road and my family used the park and library nearly every day. Cardiff Council will not bother to seek my opinion and I cannot tell them officially what I think of this excuse for a process! How many other people are in this situation? By the way, my councillor is totally against these proposals and will vote against them. Unfortunately, the general feeling is that it is a rigged process and a done deal, so we had better be prepared to show that us people in the leafy suburbs, who dont need buses, leisure centres or libraries for ourselves, our children or elderly residents because we can all run the kids and village bound neighbours all over the place, in between voluntary work and socialising in the cafes THAT WE ARE NOT PREPARED TO BE MARGINALISED ANY MORE AND THAT ANY LACK OF DECENT SERVICES SHOULD BE REFLECTED IN OUR COUNCIL TAX RATES!
