Just a little warning for anyone who likes to drive too close to horses and their riders when they are out on the roads; our horses are our babies and if you put them at risk we are likely to flip. Went for a walk on saturday with Izzy on Dancer with Kellie Berry and Lisa Hornby. A man in a big 4X4 passed mum and I as we walked behind Dancer, missing us by inches, and then proceeded to pull in behind Dancer. No word of a lie, he was inches from her backside, she wasnt miffed but I lost it and almost put my fist through his window. Completely out of character for me to act without thinking, especially involving strangers but Dancer is my life. Dont people understand that horses are animals? They arent like another car than might just get a bit bumped or scratched if you hit them. THEY DIE. People like that idiot are the reason we ride side by side when we go out in pairs. Its not illegal, it keeps us safe from people that dont have the patience to wait until its safe to overtake. Dancer is incredibly safe on the roads. She is also insanely protective of her six-year-old jockey and has been known to swing her rear end towards vehicles that she thinks are a bit too close for comfort. So if you know anyone who had his windows bashed on by a very angry brunette in yellow hoody send him my way so I can thank him for putting my baby and her teeny tiny jockey in danger by decking him. 😊☺️
