Just a little warning for everyone. My son took a swim with his phone on our vacation last month. We went to the Verizon store and were told we had a FREE upgrade if we went with a particular phone. Cool! Got the new phone and all was good. Got my bill this week and it was a little higher than normal. Started looking and found a $30 upgrade fee on his number. Called Verizon, explained the situation and asked for an explanation. CS Rep: The phone was free but there is an upgrade charge. Me: I was told it was a FREE upgrade. Her: The phone WAS free but there is an upgrade charge. Me: Well thats very convenient for yall. You can tell people its free and still charge for it. Her: I can give you a credit for half of the fee. Me: No, you can give me a FREE upgrade like you said you would. Her: Ill have to talk to my supervisor. I got the $30 credit. But I bet most people dont make that call. Beware!!
